i will include a comparison photo of just a small number from my manga and anime deck collection to this one, to show size. here's a picture showing from largest to smallest, with this deck being the largest at the top and then it goes to smallest on the way down.
there are so many pros and less cons i have found quickly while using this deck.
the pros:
1. the size reminds me of the original and true modern witch deck. it's large just like that one but actually, i find this deck much easier to shuffle and hold!
2. speaking of shuffling, it's so easy and not slippery. it's just perfection when it comes to it.
3. card quality is excellent in regards to art print and surface texture. very smooth and crisp clean artwork prints. the text written on some of the cards are normally bold and easy to read! also, cards are not flimsy but not too stiff either. they are bendable but keep their shape as they should.
4. there's an informative and super easy to understand booklet included that explains the upright position of all the cards. the information is absolutely straightforward and quick, not really in depth at all (and that's not an issue)
5. they are matte but still reflect light in angles. i really like that about them.
6. the book has COLOR pictures that correspond to the card that it explains!
7. the book has a whole single page dedicated to each major arcana card and for the minor arcana, they are placed in groups on a single page. i like that! less pages to flip through and find something i'm curious on. the book starts with major arcana explanations and then the following is minor arcana explanations.
8. all pages of the book are numbered
9. the book has different multiple spread explanations as well which is interesting. also includes example reading of the cards in a spread near the back of the book.
cons:
1. it includes a book that does not explain reversal position of the cards, only upright position.
2. the book does not contain an index page to find a certain card page faster/easier. this would have been a nice touch to support beginners.
